Now in its seventh year, the BSN Brilliant Book Awards highlight the best of recent fiction published in PB format. The shortlist for this year, chosen by staff and reading enthusiasts at the BSN, includes:

Echo Mountain by Lauren Wolk, The Elephant in the Room by Holly Goldberg Sloan, cardboard Cowboys by Brian Conaghan and When the Sky Falls by Phil Earle for the KS3 or younger senior school students.

Burn by Patrick Ness, The Short Knife by Even Caldecott, Concrete Rose by Angie Thomas (author of The Hate U Give) and The Great Golden by Meg Rosoff for KS4 and older senior school students.
